Fat chaps get a stiff warning
SEX talk could actually help save lives.
Telling men what obesity will do to their sex lives has more impact than warnings about heart disease, scientists have discovered.
Professor Gary Wittert from Adelaide University, in Australia, says men often brush off advice that extra weight can lead to cardiac problems.
But they shed pounds when they’re warned that being overweight can cause impotence.
Prof Wittert explains: “It’s not only blood vessels to the heart that are affected by obesity.
“Similar effects occur with the blood vessels to the penis, with resulting erectile dysfunction and poor urinary tract function.”
But he says most men are oblivious to the danger.

MIRACLE weight-loss treatments come in many forms but wearing caffeine tights sounds mad.
Yet Birmingham firm Tights-please claim the magic tights can reduce cellulite and trim flabby thighs by up to two centimetres in just weeks.
Although caffeine can boost the metabolism of cells, there’s no evidence that rubbing it on the skin dissolves fat.
National Obesity Forum chairman Dr Colin Waine said: “There is no quick fix – it’s all about limiting food intake and increasing physical activity.”
Cheltenham, don’t kid yourself that betting’s a science.
Swiss boffins used brain imaging to see what happens when we take a punt.
They discovered that a part of the brain called the anterior insula – which is associated with emotions – springs into action when we gamble.
And the quicker it kicks in, the less likely we are to be able to weigh up risks accurately.
Researcher Peter Bossaerts says: “It represents an important advance in our understanding of the neurological underpinnings of risk.”
Unfortunately it won’t help you pick a winner.
